Hi everyone, I'm glad to be occupied with thisnews letter, as I'm still coming to terms withthe disastrous rugby result on Saturday evening. How England let that slip away was crazy, indiscipline was the problem, when will theylearn, still I'll be there again this comingweekend, ready for more nail biting against theWallabies its win or bust so here's hoping!!!.On the football front things went a bit betterfrom my point of view Man Utd top of the tablefor the first time in two and a half years, I'mnot at all sure it's going to last they stilldon't look the finished article to me. Thediehard Man City fan that's Daz Winfield, hasgone a little quiet for now just how I likeit!!. Locally the Mariners got back to winningways with a great 4-0 away win, let's hope theycan get on a good run and climb the table.
Goffin Cup
On the results front we had the Goffin cupplayed on Saturday the 26 September, I'mdelighted to report one of our newer members RichardLightowler ran out the winner with 40points, just edging out young Sam Bladeswho also had 40 points on count back. It's greatto see Richard in the winner's circle as he usesa buggy every game he plays due to a kneeproblem. He's got a great eye for a ball, havingplayed table tennis for England at his agelevel, in the few lessons we have had he veryquickly transferred this ability to his golfgame which is great to see. Third with 39 pointswas Mark Pearson who wastelling me what a great score he was on, until adodgy finish ended his push for the trophy.Still a fine score Mark well done.
Mid-week Medal
The Mid-week Medal played on the 24 Septemberwas won by Ian Blakewith a fine 89-21-68, winning by two shots fromBoyd Mawerwho shot 82-12-70. I know Ian is chuffed withthis, his been playing much better of late sowell done Ian.

Tip of the week
Get your alignment checked. The biggest fault isthe false idea that you should point your bodyat the target, big mistake, the club face shouldpoint to the target, and the body parallel tothe club face, book a lesson if this is one ofyour problems it can save a lot pain and anguishthis one mistake can cause so many bad shots tooccur.
