Well another week has whizzed round, disappointment for myself with The Baggies letting a winning position slip in the dying seconds of the game against Cardiff and with the England team crashing out of the 20-20 cricket World Cup
Chelsea also let me down by letting Palace beat them, and with Arsenal and Man City drawing, it has given real impetus to Liverpool in the title race, much to the dismay of the United diehards who want anyone but Liverpool to take the crown!!
It has been hectic down at the club in the build up to the season. My teaching diary is very full this week as many of you prepare for that summer season ahead. With Rob now in recovery after his hip operation we hope to see him back in around a month or so in the shop and then back to teaching a month or so after that, which will help the workload. With Alex now in the shop that is helping tremendously, particularly with the loft and lie machine and the technical behind the scenes stuff which I’m not so good at! (No comments Mr Reid please!)
Talking of technical we now have FlightScope confirmed as being delivered, which will up our professionalism for fittings of clubs, balls and also some lesson usage where actual figures may be useful. This investment should see us able to compete with bigger outlets in terms of technical information now available to you, the golfer. We are just awaiting a delivery date and training but feel free to contact us for a fitting on the new equipment and we will contact you as soon as we are up and running. Speak to us in the shop or click here to be one of the first to try out the new equipment
The shop is now full of exciting new products and we are pleased with how the shop is looking. The Ladies deal on the new PING clothing has been well received, simply 10% OFF any one item, 15% OFF any two items or 20% OFF any three items bought in any one transaction. Feel free to pop in to try on.
Also the wedge and putter collections in store have been very well regarded, we are happy to give fittings in these important areas. With PING, TaylorMade and Scotty’s to choose from in the putter department, and PING, Cleveland and Vokey in the wedge department, there is a great choice to get your game sharp on approach and around the greens.
S3 trolley now in stock with choice of Lead Acid or Lithium Battery.
Vokey wedge £90 per club , special two wedge purchase price of £170 (must be in one transaction)
Course wise things are now in place to see a great conditioned course again this season. As ever we need slightly warmer weather to see consistent growth. This means we need to be patient for that warmer burst.
We already have seen several of you book games for the Open Day on 27th April where you can bring friends or family to play for £10 with fish and chips thrown in! You will also get a £5 voucher to spend in the bar on the day for everyone you sign in. This includes signing new golfers up for the free group lessons available on the day. There will also be drinks and nibbles in the clubhouse for the attendees of those lessons. Lesson times are 10am for men, 11am for ladies, 12 for juniors, 1pm for couples and 2pm for families. We simply require an email address at the point of booking. Click here to book lessons or for a time to play on the day. Times available from 10am - 2pm.
Great to hear that the clubhouse was full on Friday for the function put on by the Social Committee, one of several planned for the year. With Janine putting on a new special's board each week to boot it is making for a vibrant clubhouse right now.
Well done to Simon Peart who was recently drawn out to win the named car park space for the year!

Well a little short and sweet this week as I have to fit a year end in to a busy week. Nothing like being busy though!
