Well another week of the season completed, with generally great weather for us to enjoy. First thing to mention is the upcoming CHARITY DAY on 22nd August. We still have plenty of spaces for teams and need your support to make this as great a day as usual. Cost is £10 per member and £20 for a non-member, payable upon entry in the shop so pop in to get a time. Pam Welby also needs raffle prize donations which you can leave in the shop. Bottles, vouchers etc. gratefully received.
Last week saw The Sunday Morning Fourball Cup played ironically on a Saturday. A great score of 60 by consistent pairing Phil Robinson and Dick Easton took top spot. Second place on 64 was Paul Barker and Mick Webber. Third on a better last 6 65 was Gary Simpson and Jack Woodhams from Zak Mawer and Lewis Peters.
Sunday saw Paul and Elaine Barker retain the Peckett Cup, whilst Judith and Paul Gorman were second.
Thursday also saw a competition played. The Curry Cup is for 55 and over and Andy Taylor won with a better exact handicap 67 from Colin Staniforth. Trevor Gadd was in third on 68.

The cricket last week was brilliant with England retaining The Ashes by taking an unassailable 3-1 in the series. Firstly Broady was superb to take 8 for 15, then a fine century by Root and lastly Ben Stokes came to the party with a 6 for. Brilliant again I say!!!!! Football wise Town will be disappointed to let a lead slip late on, but a point away from home to start their campaign. My boys play tonight (typing away on Monday morning). Best result must be West Ham winning 2-0 at Arsenal, whilst Liverpool got off to a winning start, as did Man United. Villa, Crystal Palace and Leicester all won as well.
Shop wise we are still having a busy spell both on the practise ground and in the shop. We have opened up the winter lesson offer early this year of 10 lessons for £100 so pop in to book and take advantage of this great offer. Also the new i iron from PING is causing quite a stir and we are offering a free fitting (for this model only) through August. Again click here to book.
Don't forget the shirt offer of £10 OFF every Men and Ladies shirts (stock only) and also look out for the bag offers in store.
Alex is still busy with fittings, please click here to book, cost is £25 for a 40 minute session.
Well short and sweet this week, have a great week, Paul
