Hi everyone Alex here again this week.
It was a busy end to the week for us in the shop with Waino's Golf day on the Thursday and then the annual Pro Am on the Friday. Ant Dempsey & James Murray came joint winners with 69. With Lady Captain Anne Lambert, Chris Reid and Dave Hannay winning the Team Prize. Paul finished with an 81 and I finished with a 74 after a bad start.
Saturday saw a Stableford Competition with John Cox winning Division One with 36 points over Darren Fuller. Division Two saw James Richardson win with 39 points over Mark Atkins and lastly Division Three saw Jason Render win with 40 points over M Vaughan with 36 points.
Finally, big congratulations to Mark Pearson for winning the Croft Baker Cup. He bested Steve Brattan in the final
Johnny Gale and I were also on caddying duty last Tuesday at the Trilby tour for Nik Bradsell & Matty Barber which, as you can see, was such a good laugh and a great day out!
Golf wise, from the weekend Jordan Spieth showed his talent as one of the best golfers in the world to win his 2nd consecutive major and keep the calendar Grand Slam on!
Many people have had a say on the course and I personally think the greens where shocking for a major golf tournament.
Roll on the Open at St Andrews!
Shop wise we are doing lots of fittings and lesson programmes right now. Click the link to book the lesson deal of seven lessons for £100 , or the short game lesson offer of three lessons for £30 , a great way to sharpen up and save shots.
The new Oakley Glasses have been going very well and lots of you have shown a big interest in them.
Just a reminder we have a trial pair of the golf specific ones in the shop which you can take for a round to see if you like them!
To take advantage of these offers, please print off this voucher here and bring it into the store!
With a great range of bags and trolleys, and a full complement of shoes, we feel confident of kitting you out with the best gear possible!
Gapping sessions are going well with people wanting to know how far they hit each club carry and overall distance. Well worth 40 minutes on the Flightscope for a low price of £20.
We have also had quite a few people booking in to have the lofts and lies checked, it has be known that up to 85% of people play with the incorrect lies on irons & wedges so this is a must to have your clubs set up for your own swing. Prices are £3 per club or a maximum of £20 for a full set.
If you require any more info then pop in and have a chat with myself, Paul or Robin.
Don't forget, you can try out all the PING gear as we have a fitting event this Thursday, 25 June between 1pm and 5pm. Click here to book your place.
