Hi everyone I’m stepping in for Paul this week as he’s away playing at Elsham. I hope you all had a great Bank Holiday weekend, the weather got better as it went along, and seems to be set fair for the rest of the week, which is great it’s been a long winter we deserve a bit of sun!
We ran a Stableford comp on Saturday 4th April which was won by young Jack Garland with 39 points from Dave Ellis on 37 points, well done Jack!
On Monday a mixed social was held, it was won by Darren Gough and Alison Fletcher with a great score of 45 points, 2nd on 42 points was Nanette Gough and Tony Dann, and third with 38 points was Carla Clyburn and Dave Colvin.
Saturday 14 March 2015 - Winter League
Saturday saw the last winter league before the knockouts with Zak Mawer & Martin Thompson winning with a 66. John Gale & Matty Barber took 2nd place with 67 with a better back 9 over 3rd place Ash & Tony Cox with 67 (Back 6), and Vinnie Thomas & Joe Victory in 4th with 67.
Saturday 21 March 2015 - Better Ball Stableford
The weather was cold and blustery for this better ball pairs stableford but some excellent pairings ignored the conditions and scored well. 1. R.Kapka & M.Atkins 41 stableford points, 2nd D.Ellis & F.Szep, 40 points and 3rd on better back 9 D.Houlton & C.Stone with 38 points and they took it from J.Evans & P.Barker.
Saturday 28 March 2015 - Stableford Qualifier
Saturday saw tough conditions for the March Stableford Qualifier:
- D.Ingham with 38 points
- J.Staples with 36 points
- G.Radcliffe with 34 points
The 1st team progressed to the next round of the Daily Mail on Sunday with a narrow 3-2 victory over Louth.

Upcoming events this week; 8th April Ladies invitation stableford, Thursday the 9th midweek stableford, then on Saturday 11th there is another stableford. The Juniors play for the Edwards Trophy on Sunday 12th April, first tee off at 1pm.
Friday 10th April see's the first of the Pro’s roll up evenings, everyone is more than welcome from all sections of the club. The idea is to meet up and play with new people having fun competitions that change each week, ending with something to eat afterwards, so we look forward to seeing you.

What a weekend of great goals in the premiership, unfortunately the baggies didn’t have a good day at the office, the red devils did however take up where they left off against Liverpool. Poor old Chris Wells is still having nightmares about that result, not to keen on the Mancs is our Chris. Great last gasp equaliser for the Mariners at home to Gateshead, they really needed that to keep them in with a chance of that top spot.
