Well as I type away we have yet more course closurse due to torrential rain on Sunday!!! When will it end?! In the shop we have more than had enough now.
When the course is open it has proved to be holding up well to the adverse weather mind you.
With the shop full of new stock we are itching to get the season going, and to be fair the lesson diary has remained quite busy as many of you look to get your game in order for the season ahead. Don’t forget the gapping sessions by Micko are also an important tool towards those preparations, and those that have already done so on the FlightScope have been more than impressed. Click here to book in, sessions are £20 per half hour. I am increasingly using the technology in my lesson plans, sessions for lessons are also £20 per half hour with the FlightScope.
The new PING Cadence putter and Glide wedge stock is now in, looking really great I must say, so pop in for a look when you are down.
As said last week at the start of next month I will be putting the Pro Am together. Please contact me before if you want a spot or a tee sponsorship.
Also this year we are intending to start a Pro’s roll up on a Friday evening. This will be open to all, with the three of us Pro’s playing. We intend to mix everyone in and end with sandwiches, chips and a beer. The encouragement will be on fun and helping newer golfers in to the fold, we will welcome all support and for your family and friends to meet up after play. We intend to see play go from 4 till 6 and to start some time in April. Again contact me if you have any ideas to enhance these roll ups.
Well only nine played in the Stableford we held on Saturday. Steve Emmerson was the winner and second was Dave Ellis. The winning £15 and second £10 will be applied straight to accounts. There were no two’s.
Saturday 14 February 2015 - Winter League
A great weekend last weekend at the club with all 18 holes open and plenty of freshly cut areas, including the greens which had also been rolled. The winter league Saturday saw 31 pairs enter with Waino and Jazz Jarrel coming out on top with a fine 62.
Wednesday 18 February 2015 - Hidden Partners (15 hole stableford competition)
There were some great scoring in this stableford competition and the two winners played equally well, each scoring 24 points - they were Jean Craven and Alison Fletcher with a combined total of 48 points. 2. Elaine Barker and Liz Stones with 43 points and 3. Lady Captain, Anne Lambert and Anne Poultney with 42 points.
Cleethorpes Golf Club Ladies Section - Hidden Partners winners: Liz Stones, Jean Craven, Lady Captain Anne Lambert, Anne Poultney, Alison Fletcher and Elaine Barker
Sport wise we look forward to England’s rugby boys taking on Paul Gorman’s Ireland at the weekend. We will discuss next week!!!
Albion took part in a dire 0-0 draw at Sunderland, disappointing display after much more attacking ones against Swansea and West Ham. Man United looked poor again at Swansea, Chelsea were actually on the receiving end of some bad decisions against a much improved Burnley, and Man City thumped Newcastle to close the gap. Liverpool inch closer to a top four spot, and with Arsenal and Tottenham looking good Man United may struggle to stay in the top four!! Town had a great win at Barnet, but the gap looks too big for them to get automatic promotion.
Well that’s your lot for this week, we hope to see the course back up and running and many of you down. Have a great week, Paul
