Maintenance week
Well the course maintenance week went well for the lads out on the course last week, and the greens are now back on after some disruption. It's great to see the course progressing so well after its recent difficult spell.
Please note that you must drop the ball from the white-lined areas where topdressing and seeding has gone on across several fairways.
Please do bear with us while we undergo our course renovations, as they're crucial in order to be able to offer top-quality course conditions for the rest of the year.

More new stock in store
Shop-wise we remain busy in all areas, with Darryl snowed under for lessons and fittings, and my good self having to step in to do more of the coaching duties than the last two years to help out. |
The new Cleveland Wedges are proving a hit, and we have the full demo kit available to try.
Lesson and fittings are now having to be booked around two weeks in advance, especially as Darryl is heading to a much needed 10 days off! He was going to be off to Las Vegas, and can't right now for the obvious reasons, but will still have his time off to recharge. We also now have a reasonable supply of electric trolleys at last, so if you are wanting any for Christmas (sorry to mention this so early!) or indeed any clubs or other gear, I suggest you talk to us very soon!

Darryl is sorting out a mega end of summer season SALE
He is calling it the "Pre Black Friday October Sale", and I am calling it the "Bankrupt the Boss October Sale!"
Either way, the summer gear will be at top-notch prices, and the newly arrived Autumn gear from Under Armour, FootJoy, and Green Lamb will have deals on it too!
As you can see below, we have two very full SALE RAILS, and a great selection of Summer shoes on offer, so be sure to pop in for a browse, and we will look at a deal even before it is all ticketed!

Pawson Cup Unfortunately, I didn't have the results for the Pawson Cup finalised in time for last week's newsletter, but I'm now pleased to report that the winner was Tom Brielrley, who played fresh off a lesson with Darryl and shot a fine 65. Second was in-form Embo with another fine 68, and third was Dave Campling with 70. Best gross saw another fine round, 70, from Darren Fuller.

Ladies AmAm
Last Wednesday, 22 ladies played an AmAm in slightly damp conditions! For that reason and the threat of thunderstorms, it was a 9-hole competition and most managed to complete it without being soaked so we were all winners!
The results were as follows 1st - Tracy Farr, Anne Lambert and Jan Williams - 40 points - £10 each in Pro Shop 2nd - Susan Colvin, Trudy Owen, Joan Baker and Babs Swann (better back 6) - 34 points - £5 each Well done to all that took part!

Thanks to Glenn and Jan
We are nearly at the end of what has been a very strange summer season, well done to Glenn Wishart in particular for cobbling together and running a summer schedule after lockdown. These things don't happen on their own, and Jan Williams has done equally as good a job for the Ladies section.
Let's hope we can get back to normal next year.

Sport's report
Sport wise, a great win for Nig Corbett's Foxes at Man City at the weekend, Darryl and several others Spurs fans were cheated of a victory by another appalling hand ball decision. I would suggest all professional defenders just cut their arms off as it is the only way these silly decisions will stop!!
My boys got a creditable draw against Chelsea, a shame we couldn't hang on for that much-needed win, but that was what we were doing at the end, hanging on!!

Well, we hope to see you in the shop for that bankrupt Paul sale, don't forget to check your credits on your accounts and use that to nab these bargains!
Have a great week, Paul |
If you ever needed persuading that there's more than one way to play the game of golf, all you need to do is watch golf on TV for five minutes. From quirky swings to innovative putting methods, you'll see it all from the world's best. So, when it comes to your putting, what's the best way to hole more putts? |
| TaylorMade's new Spider FCG Putter |
|
Well, the truth is you'll need a putter that is suited to your stroke and your preferences when it comes to alignment and feel. It goes without saying that we can certainly help you in this department, with a huge range of putters available to try in the pro shop. |
A new option that we're big fans of is TaylorMade’s Spider FCG. It feels like a blade but with the look and stability of a mallet. The best of both worlds! If you’re interested in trying the Spider FGC or any other putter for that matter, send us a message below and we'll be in touch. |
