Welcome back to this week's edition of the weekly newsletter here from the Pro Shop at Cleethorpes Golf Club.
It's been yet another busy week down at the club with Darryl and myself (mainly Darryl if we are honest) busy on fittings and lessons.
Enjoy the read.

Still busy!
In addition to Lessons and fittings, we've also been very busy recently doing plenty of re-grippings. If your clubs are in need of a re-grip ready for some wetter weather, email us at paul.davies@foremostgolf.com for any requirements.
The lead time for lessons currently stands at two weeks, so please book in early and perhaps a few in advance to avoid disappointment.
Thankfully, Dave Reid is back now helping two afternoons a week so that should help us, and as ever my thanks to Nigel Leach who has helped us out no end recently.
The race is on!
Mizuno are currently winning the iron fitting race this year, and TaylorMade the wood fitting race.
In the Putters, it is a very even spread now between PING, TaylorMade, Mizuno, Srixon and Odyssey, and with the SAM PutttLab now fully working, it is a great time to book that putter fitting (two weeks lead time!) at £40.
Click here for more details about our fittings for both Putters and other hardware.
More sizes of a favourite clothing brand
We have recently taken delivery of some more J. Lindeberg clothing for the men, which are looking great as always.
Please also watch this space for more autumn stock arriving, including both Motocaddy and PowaKaddy electric trolleys, both of which have been in short supply across the country in recent weeks and months with a struggle to get parts.
Again, I apologise to any customers waiting for their trolley or their battery order!

Upcoming Events
The course is now coming back strongly thanks to Steve and the boys' hard work and the volunteer force have been out which helps things along so much getting the course ready for some of the big upcoming events. This Saturday, for example, sees the Men's Invitation Day with around 28 four balls booked in already, which is great support in the current circumstances. Then on Saturday 29th August is the club day with 23 teams already down to play. Don't forget the tee is booked out for this until clear so pop into the shop with your £20 for the team (away players also welcome at £10 each). |
Bunnies Cup
The Bunnies Cup on Saturday was won by Tony Hartles with a fine 67, to leave Tony Miller in second place with 68.
Ladies Medal
On Wednesday, the ladies played the first qualifying medal this year and produced some excellent scores! Congratulation go to: 1st - Jo Gibbons (nett 69) - £15 in pro shop. 2nd - Valanteena G (nett 72) - £10 in pro shop. 3rd - Chris Reid (nett 72) - £5 in pro shop

Hole in One
Congratulations also must be said to Dave Cullum who had his first-ever hole in one last week.
An absolutely amazing feat, well done Dave! |
It's about to get interesting The Northern Trust begins this week, marking the start of the FedEx Cup playoffs on the PGA Tour. The event, held at TPC Boston, will be followed by the BMW Championship before culminating in Atlanta at The Tour Championship. It’s a hell of a payday for the winner ($15 million), as well as a lot of prestige; joining a list of golf’s modern greats. Justin Thomas has already wrapped-up the $2 million Wyndham Rewards prize for the best regular-season player, with PGA Championship winner Collin Morikawa finishing second. Thomas will be hoping to join Rory McIlroy and Tiger Woods as the only players to win the FedEx Cup multiple times (both have won it twice), but it won’t be easy. |
