Well I must say it's great to be back, albeit in a limited format. Well done to everybody for taking on board the booking system so well, by and large you have mainly got a time to suit. If you play later in the day there seem to ample spaces, and don't forget you can play after 6 without booking. At this time please still go off the first and leave 10-minute gaps between groups, 2 balls only. Keep up the good efforts. As I type away this on Tuesday, it will be the first day for myself coaching and I am looking forward to getting out there. Darryl stayed behind after 6 last night for his first stint, and any outstanding lessons are still valid!! I just hope I can remember how to coach, although many of you might say you never did know how!! Also, Darryl can conduct fittings, but these, as with the lessons must be outside. On the return, there has been some criticism of the course. Most is in good order, but the Greenstaff and the board are aware of the issues of the fairways, and a plan is being put in place to tackle this. As paying members you have the right to criticise, but do it in the right way, via the board or face to face with Steve. Sometimes you may see a different picture when you discuss in a proper manner. And social media criticism just shouldn't be the way!! Oh and as I type away it's actually raining!!! Let's move forward as a club, help each other and remember we are a members club, not owned. I will continue to do a day a week helping on the course in strimming untidy areas, chip barking etc, and what a great job John Gale is doing in these areas by the way. Perhaps in the short term, we might get a few more volunteers to help in this regard, see me if you might have some time. Some of the manufacturers are now getting going again, with any orders we place please be patient as delivery might be slower than normal. Well short and sweet as we get back going, have a great week, stay safe and I look forward to seeing many of you down at the club. |
