Well firstly I had a great day at Hull v West Brom, courtesy of a kind invitation from Tony Diable. Along with Steve Brattan and Mark Sutherland I enjoyed a fine meal, and whilst you could see both sides were short on confidence in the 0-0 draw, it was still great to be at another Albion game. We were the better team first half and Hull the second, but we did miss a penalty!!! Chelsea lost against in form Newcastle. Look out for my picture with ex Brom player Geoff Horsefield.
Down at the club Saturday saw the Turkey Trot with 38 pairs entering. Top of the pile was Gaz Grantham with ‘Mr Calm’ aka Paul Wain on 40 points. John Gale and Darren Fuller had a better back nine 39 points to take second from Daz Enright and Dave Thorndyke. 4th with a better back nine 38 points was John Kitchen and Mick Cushion from Phil Frost and John Riley. All five winning pairs need to collect their prizes from the shop. The scoring was eventful due to frosty greens!!! Look out for the picture of Reidy and his gang with their figure enhancing Christmas sweaters!!

Shop wise we are now gearing up for Christmas and the first gifts have been wrapped via our wrapping service. With gifts from Mitts at £16 per pair up to electric trolleys we have a great array for you or your loved ones to pick from, so please pop in for a browse. It is not too late to order many items that might not be in stock as well.
A big congratulations to Matt Smith, Assistant Head Greenkeeper, on his wedding last Saturday. Also to Nigel Garland on his 50th birthday, again last Saturday.
Perhaps the biggest congratulations should go to young Ash Ryecroft from the greenstaff. He has just got a new job at Wentworth!!! I am sure he will do well as he has a great work ethic for someone so young and I wish him all the best.
Well that’s it on the spiel this week, don’t forget the lesson offer for 10 lessons for £100 is still on, perhaps an ideal Christmas box. Also we are now doing FlightScope lessons at £20 per half hour in the indoor net in the evening, plus the 4 person skills challenge at £40 per four for an hour. Click here for details. Have a great week, Paul
