The stock is arriving whilst Paul is away, he’s stitched me up good and proper.

There have already been a little bit of the ladies and men’s Island Green clothing arrive with Under Armour and J.Lindeberg also expected any day this week. I am also awaiting the new range of shoes from Skechers alongside our 2020 putters.

Around the sporting world...

I feel sorry for Tommy Fleetwood this weekend after that idiot shouting at the top of his backswing hitting his approach to the 18th. If he had hit the green and managed to make a birdie; who would have known what would have happened in the playoff. Congratulations still has to go to Im Sung-jae who played superbly in Florida to secure his maiden PGA Tour victory.

Over in the Oman Open, there was also a maiden European Tour Victory for Sami Valimaki holding off Brandon Stone in a playoff. It was a hat trick of maiden victories with Julia Engstrom securing her first Ladies' European Tour win over in New South Wales.

Onto the depressing bit now, football. After Norwich got a shock victory over Leicester on Friday night and Chelsea only managing a point against Bournemouth, it was prime for Spurs to go get a victory over Wolves and get themselves well and truly back into the hunt for a Champions League place. Unfortunately, it didn’t work out like that, after leading twice and managing to lose 3-2 making me depressed all Sunday night.

The performance of the weekend has to go to Watford after ending Liverpool’s incredible winning streak. Watford was outstanding so you never know survival is a big possibility now for them - I hope Martin Lacey had his lottery ticket on that night.

West Brom had a shock defeat at home to Wigan (of course they did, I had them on my bet) which has allowed Leeds to be in contention for the title. Town had a disappointing result against Northampton whilst Scunny managed to snatch a great point in the 90th minute.

The art of putting

‘Drive for show, putt for dough’. No doubt you have heard this one a few times before but considering putting equates to between 30 to 50% of our shots on the course, it also has a large element of truth in it.

The whole puzzle

If you're considering buying new irons this year, have a think about how they are going to blend into the rest of your set. The idea is to have equal yardage gaps between each club in your bag so, if you are going to treat yourself, it might be worth replacing a long iron with a hybrid that is easier to hit.

Take danger out of play

The illustration here is a good example of where a hybrid comes in handy. When our driver brings danger into play and a long-iron leaves us too far to the green, a hybrid is the perfect option.
