Finishing touches…
The studio is having the final bits to the upgrade done by Nik B and ably assisted by Granville, AKA odd job man and ace fence erecter!
I am away on holiday from Wednesday this week for 12 days so I am looking forward to seeing it completed with SAM PuttLab able to be used and the touch screen for video analysis also in use.
Many thanks must also go to Joiner Dave Smith for all the effort he has put in for me. A great man for a joinery job if you need one.
Talking of finishing touches, have you seen the new fence by the net? Reidy and Galey have done a fantastic job, many people not believing it was their work, but the work of a professional fencer!
They have also done the new edging round the 1st tee to great effect.
Well, fairly short and sweet as I try to finish off the to do list before going away! We are also getting Darryl’s list sorted as he likes to keep busy.
I hope the course dries up when I am away and you all get more golf in than of late. |
SAM PuttLab
Darryl is now taking bookings for the Sam Lab putting coaching and putter fittings. Note he will start next week after some training to get up to speed with his lessons.
We are now waiting on the putter selections to come in from PING, TaylorMade, Scotty Cameron and Odyssey.
|
|
For both fitting and coaching, the cost is £40 per hour - With the fitting, you will get £30 back on any putter purchases!
He is also available for general fitting and coaching duties whilst I am away as Reidy is helping out on several days as cover.
Remember, the studio can be hired out at JUST £20 per hour if it is FREE!

The week in sport…
Sport wise a great England rugby win (sorry Paul Gorman), but France also won in Wales (sorry Viv Thomas) to stay top.
Liverpool won last night and despite a great effort from West Ham it now looks a formality for the title. My boys and Leeds both won and our rivals could only draw to give both teams breathing space at the top of the Championship. Grimsby were well beaten by a good Swindon outfit.
In golf, Patrick Reed won in Mexico, not a popular man in golf though! Viktor Hovland won The Puerto Rico Open. Australian Stephanie Kyriacou won The Ladies event in Australia.
|
Results
The men’s event was scrubbed on Saturday due to the high winds and not many playing. The Ladies managed to get out on Wednesday, but again the numbers were light due to the strong wind.
Considering the course has been closed since last Thursday, we were fortunate to be able to play 14 holes. Luckily the 3clubs and a putter competition meant more ladies were able to carry!
The winners were…
1st - Valenteena Gnanasundaramoorthy - 27 points 2nd - Gill Woodward - 26 points 3rd - Gill Kapka - 25points

New promotion available to you We launched this last week and the initial take up has been phenomenal! It's not just about making sure you replace the grips on your clubs every year. Instead, we want you to have the correct sized grip and the right type of grip (tacky, chorded and so on) too. This will only be running for a few more weeks so come and see us in the pro shop if interested. |
| |
Last week we revealed a remarkable statistic regarding the number of golfers playing grips that are over a year old, but what impact does that actually have on your game? Well, we decided to do some digging... |
| Tension whilst gripping | Grips are made from rubber and are prone to wear and tear, just like the tyres on your car. When they become worn, your grips will lose tackiness and your hands will start to slip during the swing, resulting in poorer shots.
The thing is, you’ll likely overcompensate by holding on to your clubs too tight, creating more tension and stiffness during the swing.
|
| Limited time offer in-store now | We know it sounds all doom and gloom, but it does make a huge difference to your game. That's why we're running this promotion at Cleethorpes Golf Club, so you can experience the benefits of a new grip first hand.
There’s no catch, just pop by the shop before your next round to take advantage. |
