Well after a fractious few weeks with internet connection problems we seem to be back functioning normally once more, so I am back to preparing the newsletter content on a gloomy but dry Monday morning.
After the heavy rains of late we could have done with strong winds, but is has stayed very still for the time of year. With the high water table it has meant the course has struggled to dry out, but we have remained open (13 holes and carrying only currentl ). No sign of snow as of yet though!! Note we have an ace mini carry bag from Masters at £35, ideal for 7 clubs. It comes with a stand and double strap and takes the weight issue out to a large degree when you have to carry!!
Saturday saw a small entry of 10 for a 13 hole Stableford, won by Mick Cook with 25 points from John Slesser with a better back 9 24 points from his playing buddy Derek Kennard. Monies for first and second will be applied to accounts and there were no two’s.
The Baggies are struggling right now with a third loss on the trot to Arsenal. Points are desperately needed, and I am going to cheer them on at Hull this Saturday so I am hoping for the best!! Chelsea’s bogey team, Barry Evan’s Sunderland, halted their great run with a battling 0-0 draw, Man City proved too much for Southampton and Man United despatched Hull with ease. Liverpool finally managed a win too!!
I went to see Town against Kidderminster last week and to say they were poor was an understatement!! They followed up with a good win against Woking, but could only draw against the bottom club last Saturday. I can’t see from the bits I have watched that they look ready for a higher division.
Shop wise the decorations for Christmas are up, the wrapping paper is in and we have some great stock to choose from. The PING Friction fleece at £50 and the Orbital fleece at £60 are selling well right now, as are the Tommy Hilfiger boxed sweaters with the Lambswool at £60 and the Merino at £70. Vouchers are also available for both shop and lessons and the winter lesson deal at £100 for 10 lessons is still available. Note I am now doing indoor FlightScope lessons at £20 per half hour (FlightScope lessons are not available in the winter deal).
A new venture is a 4 person FlightScope skills challenge, again indoors at £40 per hour (only £10 per person!) This will involve distance challenges and should be both fun and instructive in creating distance control into your game. Click here to book any sessions.
