Run ragged in a good way! Well I have just had a great week over in Belfast visiting my eldest Clara and the three grandkids, run ragged, but in a good way! William in particular is always on the go, and has joined Holywood Golf Club, the original home of Rory. I walked two nine holes with him and the place was full of kids, all made to feel welcome, as was I, and I felt the parallels with our own friendly venue. Saturday saw me back at work, and a good entry for Invitation Day. There were some murmurings that there was no presentation, I would like to see this back, but it can only work if winners get on board and turn up! Your thoughts please? See the results section, as with The Sunday Morning Fourball Cup for the following day. Invitation winnings and twos will go on to their accounts and we have a list for the visitors to come and spend up. Bad weather saw Wednesday’s Ladies Invitation Day cancelled. Ironically Belfast was lovely that day as I walked round the zoo! Mind you the course has become very lush because of the rain upon my return. The footy season started this week and my baggies had a great opening win against Forest (sorry Leachy, Coxy and Purdy!!). I thought we looked great on the ball, as with many teams we may be light in the striker department. A good win for Grimsby too! Golf wise, a great first major for Japan’s Hinako Shibuno to win The Ladies British Open. Also a great first win for JP Poston to win The Wyndham in The States, notable for matching Lee Trevino as a bogey free tournament! Shop wise, it was great to see the work Darryl and Dave put in to change the shop around, making it look much bigger in the process. We remain busy with clothing and shoes still on offer at the sale prices, so pop in for a browse. Darryl is still busy with fittings, click the link to book in, also click the link for any lesson requirements.
