Cleethorpes Senior Gentlemen’s Section - Senior Captains Away Day - 13th May 2019 A party of 30 plus members of the senior section and guests attended the Senior Captains away day held at Hainsworth Park, Brands Burton which is between Beverly and Bridlington. The day was warm and kept dry, which allowed most player to enjoy the day, but I think some came foul of the trees, something we are not use too. The away day cup was won by Roger Lockwood with 35 points. Second was John Staples with 34 points. Third was our Senior Captain Iain Sutherland with 32 points. Five players scored 29 points and on countback - fourth was Richard Wilson who scored 29 points. Fifth was Chris Whitfield also with 29 points. Best Front 9 was won by Tony Miller with 18 points, best back 9 was won by Dave Smith with 16 points, nearest the pin on the 6th hole was Mike Wain, and nearest the pin on the 16th hole was Tony Dann There was also a team prize for all 4 scores added together, 3 teams scored 110 points so it was decided to give each player a ball apiece. A special prize given by Chris Warren named the Vice Presidents Prize was given, as he put it the buggie brigade. Four members play from buggies and the best score was from Bill Frost with 26 points.
