Would you like a FREE pair of shoes? Well another week seems to have flown by, the weather was brilliant and the course was looking good, however now in need of some rain. Saturday saw a fog delay the start of the day but a busy day in the competition never the less. Sunday and Monday actually saw a frost, meaning the greens could not be cut, so players would have experienced slower than expected greens over the two days. Shop wise we have been busy, partly due to the weather and also The Darryl effect. Please click the link below to book any fittings or lessons, but do note that Darryl is taking a well-earned week off right now. Our new lesson fees are £23 per half hour or the 7 block deal is now £115. Reidy is in helping a couple of times this week so I can fit some coaching time in. Also to mention great help from Nottingham Nigel, Bodge barker and Jack the lad Evans in recent times, especially to let Darryl keep coaching when I am not around. Popular club sales right now seem very split between Mizuno, TaylorMade and PING. He has also recently done a lot of wedge fittings where it seems split between Mizuno and Vokey. We recommend you look at your grooves for your wedges, and if you need to change but to the same spec, you can keep your old wedges to practice with. This will keep the life of the new wedge grooves longer for you. |
The shop is looking great as stated previously (no one likes a big head!) so pop in for a look at our great clothing and shoe lines. Remember that the first 50 pairs of shoes sold this season (from stock only) go in to the draw where one lucky winner will get a credit back onto their account for the amount they paid for their shoes! With 24 pairs sold so far there is time to get in the draw. Also well done to Danny Houlton who came up trumps with the recent TaylorMade bag draw! Click here for any lesson or fitting requirements. |

Football wise a good win for Albion to secure a play-off spot on Friday. With Leeds losing unexpectedly, Mike Read’s Blades are now in second spot. Villa look favourites for play off glory right now after 9 wins on the bounce, a club record. No mention of Forest Nigel! Liverpool and City both won to keep it as you were at the top of the table, and Spurs breathed a sigh of relief with Arsenal and Man United both losing. Liverpool of course now play Barcelona in the Champions league Semi-final whilst Spurs beat Man City in a classic to now take on Ajax. Grimsby Town? Gone to the dogs!! Golf wise, CT Pan of Taiwan won his first PGA Tour event at Harbour Town Links, whilst Brooke Henderson of Canada won on the LPGA Tour. I played again last week, playing for the Lincs Senior pros against the Lincs senior amateurs at Holme hall. Great memories playing against Graham Lee who I grew up with playing golf at Grimsby. My partner was trick shot specialist Dave Edwards and we both played well to come out 3&2 winners. Also great memories for me as this was the course where I won The Lincs Open! Well that’s it from me this week, do pop in to say hello and have a good week golfing! |

Recent results... This Saturday saw a great entry of 121, despite a fog delay of an hour and a half. Mind you what a glorious day when the fog did lift! Paul Boundary achieved a hole in one on 17, so well done Paul! Division 1 was won by inform Jack Evans with 39 points from Alex Mason and the ever consistent Graham Richman. All his group keep pressing for him to lose more shots, great mates eh Graham? Division 2 saw new hip man (and club man as you may all guess!) Wayne Padley blast back to form with a great 39 points, with evergreen Byron Miller getting a creditable 36 points in the same division. Division 3 saw Mick Goddard win with 37 points, well done on a return to form!

Keep a watch on your game |
Technology: it’s a word that scares some of us whilst excites others. When it comes to technology in golf, there’s no question that it has helped evolve the way we play the game for the better. For example, GPS golf watches really do make knowing how far you have left to the green or hazards as simple as quick glance at your wrist. |
Introducing Garmin's Approach S40 watch First of all, this GPS watch is multi-functional and super stylish making it the ideal companion as your everyday smartwatch and game-changing piece of tech out on the course. Over 41,000 pre-loaded worldwide courses feature with precise distances to greens, hazards and doglegs displayed on its colour touchscreen. The S40 really is a stunning watch and unbelievably practical. Find out more by clicking on the link below.
