Book in for your fitting and lessons… Well this weather keeps holding up well, making for a busy club and shop! The course is in first rate order, but ironically could do with some rain and a little more warmth to help the worn areas from last season’s dry summer. Mind you, we never shut for being too dry! Darryl has had four days much earned R and R, leaving me to man the fort for that period, and boy has it been hectic! With many deals on in the shop right now and fully stocked, we seemed to have stimulated your buds to buy which is great. This shows we are getting things right and is very pleasing to hear such great comments about our brand choices and our service. Darryl will be back by the time you read this so click the link below to book any fitting or lesson needs. We are currently very busy so please be patient when booking. I have made him even busier by creating a ball fitting offer of a FREE 15 minutes with Darryl to get the right ball in your bag. Click here for any lesson or fitting requirements. The Ladies short game clinic is back on again, with 6 Ladies and an honoury Lady in Dave Emberson attending the first session last week. The sessions take place on Tuesdays 3pm-4pm priced at £5 per pupil, just let me know for the first few weeks if you are attending so I don’t get overrun with numbers. Eight is a good class size, so if that grows then I will split and create another time. Junior wise, Darryl has all his classes in place now, with a girls class 5pm-6pm on Thursday and a general class at 6pm-7pm on the same day (got these the wrong way round last week!), also there is his Saturday 10am-11am roll up and the same roll up on Sunday 2pm-3pm! Again click the link below to book your children in for the day classes in The Easter Hoildays on the 11th and 18th April from 10am-3pm. Pack up is required and it is £15 per session or to book on both for it is £25! Lastly junior wise there is a Girls Golf Rocks FREE taster session on Sunday 12th May from 2pm, for this you need to contact Gill in the office to get details and book your girls on. Also on the coaching front Darryl has a beginners adults class taking place on Sunday mornings 9am-10am. Click here to book in for any of the above sessions. Look out for notification of activities to get people into golf via our club open day on Sunday 5th May. This has been a great success in the past and we encourage you to get family and friends involved. The start to the season has been most encouraging new member wise, with signups and enquiries aplenty. This shows the club to be well run, helped by the course condition, the strength of the catering department and the efforts of the board and the office in that running of the club. I like to think Darryl and I have some input too! When clubs around us are closing and financially struggling, it is great to buck the trend! Keep recommending those family and friends into the fold. Our new lesson prices come into effect from now, we have decided to put the fees up over two years to bring them in line with the norm, whilst not affecting you too adversely in the short term. An individual lesson will be £23 this year, and the 7 for 5 block will be £115. A sad loss last week of Ray Dodsworth, a true gent and supporter of the club. Our condolences to his family.Note the fixture books are out and can be collected from the bar.
