Busy thanks to the weather… A great week last week for the club and us in the shop to say the least. As ever we dominate our conversations with the weather, and the exceptionally dry winter led to an early bird qualifying Stableford on Saturday. A great entry of 84 players was not the whole story of the day, as I have never seen the course, car park and clubhouse so busy in March! We enjoyed the knock on effect of a busy shop day too, and I said to Darryl at the end of the day it felt like a midsummer Saturday. This bodes well for the health of our club, and with new members coming in early doors, we seem to be in good health. Darryl has recently signed up several Academy members too from his beginner groups, a great entry into golf for any of your family or friends. Darryl is also creating a fantastic junior scene, and with the free Academy membership for under 12s, now is a great time to tease your children/grandchildren out from behind their computer screens and out into the fresh air. Shop wise we are so pleased with the layout and the stock, with more to come, and your feedback has been so positive which is always a welcome thing for both Darryl and myself. As ever Darryl is stacked out with his coaching and fitting duties, and on Friday he is taking a well-earned 4 day break. Coaching sessions are currently £100 for 7 lessons, this will be going up on April 1st for the first time in ten years. To get the £100 deal, simply book and pay before the end of March we will honour the lessons. Click the link below to book any sessions and also for any fitting needs. We have Mizuno, PING and TaylorMade to try across the board, and also Srixon irons. Fittings are FREE currently too, and with Darryl’s 15 minute ball fitting sessions, I expect you to keep him busy! The Ladies short game clinic starts this week, if you want to get on it for next Tuesday it is £5 and from 3pm-4pm. Please click the link to book, just so I can get a feel for numbers, in the future this will be a roll up class! Also Darryl is now back to three Junior classes, 5pm-6pm on a Tuesday and 10am-11am on a Saturday for all, and his Girls group on Thursdays from 6pm-7pm. All classes are £3 per pupil on a roll up basis. This Saturday past he had 11 kids attend, so if the numbers keep swelling as looks likely then he will introduce more classes to satisfy demand. There are plenty of other junior initiatives going on, please feel free to talk to Darryl, and if you want to be involved then also speak to him. Lastly on the juniors, the day classes for The Easter Holidays are 11th & 18th April from 10am-3pm at £15 each or both for £25. Click the link again to book in, please note they will need a packed lunch. Also look out for a date for an Easter Egg Hunt!
