Did you brave the elements? Some indifferent weather saw Saturday’s competition cancelled, the first of the winter programme this time round. Mind you the course was still open, albeit on temporary greens and several braved the elements, proof that many just don’t like shopping with the missus!!! With a slowdown in cutting duties, it has allowed the boys to get on with further tidying duties and the course seems set for a great year, future weather permitting. I have nothing but praise for the job Steve and his merry gang are doing out there. With the radiator on in the studio, we stayed busy on the lesson and fitting front through this cold snap. However as we often do, we avoided the worst of the snow, leaving that to our southern and Scottish friends. There is now only one place left for the Shotgun Breakfast on Saturday 23rd February, so get in quick to secure that last time. Please note that the course will be closed to non-competitors on that day until around 12.00pm. Also remember the Winter Invitation, where you can invite a guest to play in the competition for just the normal entry fee. Please bring someone along, it may be hectic if we get a good turnout. The idea behind this is to show potential new members the ambience of the club. Gill in the office has had a small knee operation recently and we wish her a speedy recovery. Thursday saw a great send off for Kev Doyle, a beautiful service and a packed clubhouse after showing how well regarded this great guy was! All the best to Tess and the girls as they move on after their loss.
Well keep in touch, the weather seems to be warming again. Don’t forget to book in for those lesson plans to get your season off to a flier, the best offer currently is the 7 lessons for £100 with myself or Darryl. This will be going up in April for the first time in ten years, but any booked pre then will be at the old price. Darryl is also doing a storming job with Adult and Junior beginners.
