Weel the weeks keep flying by, at least the weather is getting better. Fingers crossed it sticks around.
With the good weather at the weekend we saw 30 pairs out for the 5th Winter League Round on Saturday. At the time of writing this week's content I don't have the results so I will put them in next week.
Cleethorpes Golf Club - Men's Section
Saturday 1 March 2014 - Saturday Medal
The good weather on Saturday saw 32 people enter the Medal with some great scoring. Division 1 was won by Andy Garton whose better back nine 68 beat Ash Fletcher and Ash Ryecroft on countback. Ash Fletcher, however, had the best gross. Division 2 saw Mike Hoyle take top spot with a 69 nett.

A wonderful afternoon for golf when the ladies breezed around in the sunshine! Wonderful scores as well, with Division 1 (0-20) being won by Alison Fletcher on 29 points, which she took on countback from Gill Kapka. Division 2 (21-29) saw a winning score of 25 points for Pam Arnell, with Margaret Walker just behind on 24 points. Finally, Division 3 (29-36) had a winning score from Elaine Barker of 26 points, taken comfortably from Hilary Murray in second on 24 points.
We have been very busy starting to push the Open Day for the 27th April, not to mention all the other lesson activity too. Due to demand we are extending the deadline for one more week to book in for 10 lessons for £100, much better the normal 7 for £100. Click here to book in.
Note too we are also taking bookings for the PING Demo Day now which is 1st April from 1 till 5, a great time to try the new i25 range as well as the proven G25 range.
Alex has several people booked on to his driver fitting session too for the 27th March from 5.30 to 6.30, so click here to get booked in.
This would be a perfect time to try the TaylorMade SLDR and get advice on their 'Loft Up' campaign. Click on the image to find out more about what it could do for your tee shots.
The shop, by the way, is looking fantastic at the moment. Pop in and give us your opinion. The Mens clothing ranges from PING and FootJoy are all we're waiting for now, as well as thePING Ladies range. It'll be hard to fit anything else in the shop! Also due in are Vokey and Cleveland wedges, combined with the PING Gorge wedge range already in will give you a great choice to fill any wedge gaps in your bag.
Remember too we have PING and TaylorMade putter ranges now in so if you are looking to change your putter you are welcome to take putters onto the putting green to try. To help this we are also offering one off putter lessons at £10 for ½ an hour up to the end of March. In this lesson we will talk technique, and can also advise on the best putter choice. Having the extended PING range in, we can take the adjustment key out to fit the right playing length for yourself. Click here to arrange a booking.

Congratulations
Congratulations to PJ and Holly on the birth of their first child Louie, who weighed in at a whopping 11lb 2 ounces. Having already met the young man he looks like a charmer, just like his Dad!
Wigan are a Voodoo team for City
Albion keep getting closer to relegation me thinks, but at least the weather and the England rugby side are both looking up! Sorry to Gareth Thomas and any other Welsh boys but this year you were comprehensively beaten in revenge for last season!!! Well done to all you United followers for a comprehensive victory at the Hawthorns, we now have four vital games where we need to break a winless 17 game run to have any hope of survival.
Chelsea look good at the top, Arsenal got into the semis with some ease, but what about Man City losing to voodoo team Wigan! Well done also to any Hull fans and especially well done to Mike Read as his Blades team give him a welcome trip to Wembley after a recent poor spell (six wins on the bounce in the league.)
Grimsby Town managed to give a last minute penalty away to only draw, but have lots of games in hand to charge back into the play off places.
