Well another week has flown by and another defeat for both The Baggies and for Grimsby Town. Well done to Everton who deservedly beat us on Saturday, albeit with our shaky defence helping out once again!!! Town also need to go back to the drawing board. Man United looked impressive against a poor QPR side, and Chelsea snubbed out Swansea’s unbeaten start to the season. Well done to any Yorkshire cricket fans as they secured their first title in the championship for thirteen years.
The Goffin Cup on Saturday saw a great gross 67 from Martin Warren earn him a 39 point winning total, courtesy of a better back nine from Ian Richardson. Third place with a better back nine 38 points was John Lock from Pete Tingle.

The club hosted a Lincs County event on Sunday, results of which I have not yet seen. Well done to Rob Welford and the boys who got the course in tip top condition.
Saturday night got me an invite to Sean Cook’s retirement event from the police after 30 years of service. It was a great do and I wish Sean well and good golfing into the future. As ever Janine and the gang put on a belly busting hot and cold buffet. Don’t forget for members, hire of the room for a function is FREE, and as a great space for a party and with great food I recommend the place for any of your private functions.
A big thank you is in order this week to Tony Diable for sorting the scaffolding out around the flagpole, and the subsequent painting and rope fixing by Dave Colvin. The club will always thrive whilst such great service comes from such members!!!!!
