Well I simply have to start with the stunning success of Thomas Bjorn and the magnificent 12 who stunned the Americans to handsomely win the Ryder Cup over the weekend. I thought the Yanks would be too strong for us, but their picks played so poorly whilst ours excelled. It seems churlish to pick any one player out and we all have our favourites, but Francesco Molinari for me was the outstanding player on both sides. Also we must mention Garcia who now is the record point holder in The Ryder Cup. Let’s hope we see a fresh impetus in golf, and I know our club is at the forefront in this area to help stimulate golf and see it grow. Enjoy this week's read!

Growth of the game... One area of great success, and credit to both the club and Darryl, is the incredible re-growth in junior numbers this year from 18 to 46! As a club this bodes well, but we need to keep our eye on the objectives to create long term golfers out of these kids in the battle away from the computer scourge the country now sees! Current junior roll-up class times are 10am – 11am on a Saturday, £3 per session. The more advanced boys and girls classes are coming to an end on Thursdays so look out for new arrangements to be diarised over the weekends!
Lesson tariff One half hour Studio lesson for £20, with a studio lesson offer of 5 lessons for £80! Studio practice time £20 per hour, note there is a course play option too! Darryl has a beginner’s class on Sunday 9am 10am which is currently full, so look out for a new class time on a Saturday! Click here to book in for any lesson.
Sport update A great game between Chelsea and Liverpool resulted in a draw, allowing Man City to top the league. Man United look terrible right now, whilst there were wins for Arsenal, Everton, Spurs, Leicester, Wolves and Burnley. My boys The Baggies are now top The Championship! Town, well oh dear oh dear!

The Paulites dominate the medal! The medal on Saturday saw some great results for The Paulite camp to keep the recent upsurge from those pesky Darrylites temporarily at bay! Division 1 saw Martin Thompson (Paulite) win with a fine 66, with Division 2 taken by Bill Davy on 68 closely followed by Paulite Shaun Cook on 69. Division 3 saw Paulite Martin Oliver have a better back nine from Paul Lee to win on nett 66, and Darren Fuller won best gross. Upcoming fixtures - Saturday 6th October - Robinson Cup
- Monday 8th October - Senior match home v Laceby
- Tuesday 9th October - Senior match Captain v Vice-Captain
- Wednesday 10th October - Ladies Invitational Stableford
Remember the Men’s Presentation and Dinner is on Friday 19th October. The table list is on the main notice board, and this is always a great evening so get your name down!

The season end draws near…. We have seen lots of exciting autumn/winter stock arrive. Also Darryl is staying busy on the fitting front with some new PING and Mizuno iron models to try. The Studio where Darryl does the fittings is also available for lesson and practice time as advertised above, contact us here for more info. Lastly look out for notifications of Darryl’s pre black Friday sale where he is intending to offer you some great bargains. For those of you with credit, this can be used too! He is still loading your e-mails onto your shop account, and when this is done we will be sending a quarterly account to you to avoid any long term discrepancies. Boy is the guy good!! Well have a great week, hope to see many of you out trying to emulate our Ryder Cup heroes, and let’s see that fist pump! Cheer, Paul and Darryl

To sleeve or not to sleeve |
Being underprepared when you're out on the course is a blunder which we've all been guilty of making. As the cold weather starts rolling in, you need to start thinking about some layering pieces that keep you warm and dry, but also lets you have freedom of movement during your round. Luckily for you, we have just the answer. |

The half-zip fleece is easy to take on and off when you're out on the course, meaning you can adapt your layering according to the temperature. The brushed back fabric adds additional warmth, and the different colourways available are all bold and unique in their own right. |
