Hi everyone Alex here,
Paul is on a well deserved break to visit the grandkids and unfortunately Rob, as many of you already know. has broken his leg so will be out of action for quite a while, so we wish him a speedy recovery.
Football news and still a struggle for my team United, let’s hope Van Gaal gets some new faces in and recovers from a terrible start. Another draw for Paul’s baggies doing exactly what they did last year when they had the most draws in the premier league with 15! Let’s hope they can get a few more wins and keep Paul happy. Great result for Town with a 6-1 win against Gateshead and as many of you have already told me could have been plenty more!!! Let’s hope they keep playing well and finally get promoted back to the football league.
We had the August Monthly Medal on Saturday the 23rd August where the weather was very mixed, which included an hour down pour which saw play suspended due to the course flooding. Play resumed and there was some good scoring throughout the 3 divisions. Ash Fletcher with a gross 69 nett 68 won division 1, Elliot Grantham with a gross 78 nett 65 won division 2 and John Hudson with a gross 91 nett 67 won division 3.
Disappointing result for the Mens 1st Team at Immingham losing 3.5 to 2.5 against a good Carholme Team in the County Semi Finals, let’s hope the team regroups and comes back better and stronger next year.

Next Saturday is Charity day and entry slots are fast disappearing so if you fancy a great day pop in the shop and get your name down, it’s teams of 4 and £10 per person and this is open to Non- Members for the same price so bring your friends along. It’s one of the best social events at the club with a very worthy cause so your participation would be greatly appreciated.
In the shop we have the new PING G30 range, TaylorMade SLDR demo drivers should be arriving anytime and also the new Titleist Custom fit clubs so pop in and have a try. Remember we have the FlightScope Launch Monitor so we can do you a fitting to find what's perfect for your game. The loft and lie machine has proved to be a popular addition to the shop with many of you getting your irons and wedges checked. Amazingly 85% of golfers use the wrong lie angle on their irons which can lead to a 15 yard miss either left or right which will have a major impact on your game.
Note there are some great used clubs for sale right now on our eBay shop, cleethorpesproshop, so feel free to bid and collect in store if you win any item. Also we are happy to sell any item (needs to be branded) to get your shop credit up.
Please note Paul will be starting the winter lesson package deal of 10 lessons for £100 from the 1st September, so if you want to improve your game through the winter ready for next summer this is a great chance for you, if interested please pop in and we can organise everything for you. Alternatively you canemail us by clicking here.
I wish you all a great week
