Hi all,
Paul is on a well deserved break, he is back in on Wednesday until Saturday then off again for a week to visit his grand kids, so you will have to make do with me this week and next.
Footy season got off the ground yesterday and would you believe it my glorious red devils picked up where they left off last season......losing!!!!! My bet with Chris Wells that United would finish above Liverpool already looks a bit risky. Paul went to see his beloved baggies yesterday, not a bad start for them 2-2 with Sunderland.
We had the Hospital Cup comp on Saturday the 16th August. In testing conditions it was won by John Slesser with a fine score of 83-17-66 just seeing off young Jack Evans who had a great round of 73-7-66 after a count back, 3rd with 83-14-69 was Craig Coutts well played guys. That gives Jack Evans a little breathing space in the three Jacks handicap race, still plenty to play for though.
Gill Kapka and Judith Gorman have made it through to round 8 of the Daily Mail Foursomes, if they win the next match they get to the final groupings in Scotland so all the best Ladies.

Charity day is fast approaching and entry slots are fast disappearing so if you fancy a great day pop in the shop and get your name down! It’s one of the great social events at the club with a very worthy cause so your participation would be greatly appreciated.
Upcoming events are Wednesday 20th August Ladies Championship day, Medal on Saturday 23rd August, and a mixed social and golf widows also on Saturday the 23rd, and then a mixed social-Millennium Cup 1st tee 12.30-2pm.
In the shop remember we have the FlightScope fitting device along with a loft and lie machine, both of which are proving very popular with additions to the service on offer. Very often the lofts and lie of the clubs we have seen so far are a long way out, with a corresponding impact on performance so get yours checked it can add yards to your game. Even our two Lady tour players Holly and Sophie were surprised at how far out there's were.
We are part of the Foremost buying group which means we can source just about any product on the market as well as matching or even beating internet prices, so if we don’t stock what you want just ask us for a quote and availability all of our goods are backed up by a first rate customer service so if anything goes wrong with a purchase we will sort it out quickly and efficiently on your behalf.
I wish you all a great golfing week and look forward to bringing you more news from the club next week.
Regards Robin
