Weekend Update
Well how time is flying by, with the longest day recently been and gone!! Don't worry there is lots of summer left we hope, and plenty of golf to be played as well. I was away in London Friday to Sunday, traveling with Lorraine and also my Mum to see my daughter Alex in her last University show, Made in Dagenham. The difference in quality of production and performance from three years of training is astounding and it was seriously a fantastic show, funny, warm and slick. Alex had lots of swearing which made her sweat with Grandma watching, but my Mum laughed out loud along with us all. Into the big wide world for Alex now!!
Rob manned the fort over the three days, with Friday seeing Brett Smith's Society bar run a big charity day. This was followed by The Williamson Cup on Saturday which saw 126 players competing. Well done to Dale Munson for a fine 69 nett 66 to take top honours from Rick Mazzingham with a better back nine. James Hibbitt won best gross with a 72 as a result of dale winning the cup. Also a great result for Danny Houlton in beating an in form Mark Fuller in a close final of The Croft Baker Cup.
Senior Men
Cleethorpes Seniors played their Monthly qualifier in cooler condition then we have had of late. This reflected in the scoring with high scores being recorded.
In third place with 18 points and on count back was Vic Toulson, in second place was Alan Hargrave also on count back with 18 points. The overall winner who has been playing well for a few weeks now was John Crockart with 19 points.
Keith Oliver also received the trophy for best putter at the senior Captains Day.
Men's Section
The Williamson Cup was played for this week by the men at Cleethorpes, an excellent nett 66 from Dale Munson was the winning score which included 2 birdies and 15 pars.
1st - Dale Munson - 69-3=66
2nd - Richard Mazingham 85-19=66 (on card count back)
3rd- James Hibbitt 72-5=67

Studio Testing
Last week European Lady Tour member and Cleethorpes friend Sophie Walker came in for some testing and working on her swing. Sophie looks to be swinging it really well at the minute and we wish her all the best in her upcoming tournaments.
Next on the schedule is the Scottish Open at Dundonald Links followed by the British Open at Kingsbarns.
