Match Reports
Well firstly this week a big apology to Nigel Leach and Joiner Dave Smith who I failed to mention hammered skipper Glenn and I two weeks ago in the Pro and captain challenge!!! To be fair I think I just blanked out all the par nett birdies hole after hole!!!! Both played very well indeed.
Last week saw Gareth Thomas and Stuart Lidgard take us on, and I played as well as I have for a long long time, helping Glenn and I secure a first half point in these matches.
Great company from all.
Update
Shop wise a busy time for us with the weather so good, drink sales noticeably up in the attempt to stay cool. Lesson wise a busy spell and most enjoyable coaching in the sun. Also with The Studio time hectic as many of you enjoy the use of the technology it has added to the business.
Fitting wise we are busy too, but are now waiting on the new PING woods and irons that are replacing the G series. They look great and we should have them in end of July.
Remember the lesson tariff for the summer is 7 outdoor lessons for £100, whilst studio time sees an offer of three lessons for £50, both lessons half hour per time. Also I have done a couple of gapping sessions, these are £20 per session. Click here to book.

Testimonial
It's always nice to receive some positive feedback from students and know you have a part in them enjoying their golf more. Here's a testimonial from our recent success story.
'I really enjoyed the lesson in the studio on Wednesday.'
'Amazing that a few tweeks can have a massive impact on playing. I was hitting the ball further and straighter, had a few drives to the left but I can live with that after only one day with the new set up. Having also implemented a few tweeks from Rob's lessons I feel that I am going forward.'
'Thanks again to both of you and will definitely use the studio again.' Charles
If you would like to enjoy your golf more and improve your swing please contact us here to book a lesson with me or any of the team in the studio.
Winning Brooks
Sport wise away from the club, a great win for two Brooks at the weekend in the golf. Brooks Koepka became US Open Champion on the men's side, with Tommy Fleetwood an excellent fourth, whilst Brooks Henderson won the ladies major from Michelle Wie and Lexi Thompson.
Our own Holly Clyburn won $10,851 in coming joint 31st, indeed one bad round or else she would have been right up there!!!! England won another good game against Argentina in the Rugby Union, whilst The Lions also won, showing signs of getting it together. Pakistan shocked everyone in The Cricket to beat both England and then a strong India side to win The ICC.
Competition Update
Back at the club Mark Fuller and Danny Houlton will play each other in the Croft Baker knockout final. With both in form it could be a cracker. Indeed Danny topped division 1 in Saturday's medal, with division 2 won by Chris Dunster and division 3 by Mike Hoyle. The Mid week medal played on the Thursday was well won by Danny Love with a nett 65!
Captain's Day
The weather forecast had predicted rain but thankfully it was incorrect so the members of Cleethorpes Senior Section could enjoy warm dry conditions to play their annual Captains' Day.
39 members competed in the competition which included a nearest the pin on the 11th and 17th holes and a nearest the line on the 15th hole with a 12 hole putting competition to finish.
Only 1 measurement of 23 foot was recorded on the 11th nearest the pin, which was won by Dr. Ian Sutherland. The 15th nearest the line was won by Alan Hargrave with a distance of 4ft 6inches just pipping Phil Bullimore by 6 inches, nobody hit the 17th green so the prize was added to the putting competition to give 3 winners. Keith Oliver took 1st place on 23 putts with John Slesser also on 23 but losing on count back to take 2nd place and Frank Barrett 1st place for the 6 hole competition.
The main stableford competition was played in two divisions. Division 2 was won by W R Cook with 16 points, 2nd was J Crockart with 15 points and 3rd was D Gentle with 13 points. Division 1 was won by past Captain Chris Warren with 18 points, 2nd was won by Bob Duncan on count back with 17 points and 3rd was won by John Croy also on 17 points.
Last week the seniors played a Bogey competition with Bill Frost (right) taking the honours with a 0 score from Vice Captain Chris Whitfield losing out on count back.
Stephenson Trophy
In glorious weather the ladies eligible to play the Stephenson Trophy enjoyed their game, The winner was Jan Dan with 98-18= 79, second on count back was Mavis Webster 99-20=79 and third was Chris Holden.
The ladies who were under 65 years of age (and not eligible for the Stephenson Trophy) played a medal too and the winner was Kate Appleyard with a nett 70 dropping her handicap to 11.
