Pro-Am
Well the countdown to Pro-am has begun as I type away this bank holiday Monday for this week's content! I have been practising hard, but can't seem to find that spark to my game right now, so fingers crossed I come across it in the next few days.
In the studio it seems fine, but course wise I am way too anxious during play, something we work hard to overcome within our lesson plans for our pupils. I need to try to visualise a positive shot, rather than the worry I am creating about the consequences right now.
As ever I will be honest in my assessment post Pro-am as to my performance, but I am more determined than ever to get my game back in order!
The club has seen a busy period due to a combination of great weather, great course condition and an influx of both new members and green fee payers, perhaps as the word has got round about the condition of the course. Last Wednesday evening I joined several other members for the divot evening to further enhance the playing conditions and thank those members that attended. Steve finds this help very useful.
Studio Lessons and Services
Lesson wise also we are busy on the back of the busy club. We are still offering the £10 STUDIO lesson, one per customer. I am really enjoying my teaching in there, finding the figures produced on the Flightscope a great enhancement to what I am saying. Also I am offering a follow on three half hour lesson deal for £50 in there. This is not available on any other lesson package. Click here to book.
Note too we are now offering gapping sessions in the, 40 minutes for £20. This is an ideal way to work out your distances and if you have any notable gaps in your equipment. Again click the link to book.
This week should see the arrival of the 15 course software so that you can have playtime in the studio. We will be charging a fourball £40 per session and we will come in first session (Once I have had my training!!!!) to show you how to use it.
Lastly we will shortly be offering practise time in the studio at £10 per half hour. On your first session we will go in with you to make you aware of how the system operates and how to read the figures.
Ladies Section
In complete contrast to the previous Wednesday the Cleethorpes ladies basked in glorious sunshine to play a medal round. The competition was kindly sponsored by Read Hyundai and their support is much appreciated by the ladies, although Mike Read couldn't attend the prize giving this year, he did send his able assistant Tarquin. The winner was Jan Williams with a nett 72, and on the same score but losing on count back was Judith Gorman, in third with a nett 74 was Elaine Blastland.
Senior Men Section
Summer at last greeted 49 Senior members of Cleethorpes Golf Club to play their Monthly Qualifier, this is played off the back nine with the front nine added to their score to enable them to have a competition handicap.
Only one winner for this competition but it was tight at the top with 3 players on 18 points. Ian Sutherland lost out on count back and came 3rd, Roger Lockwood also lost out on count back to be placed second. The winner on a good streak of luck as he also came first last week with his doubles partner was Steve Parrott.
Junior Section
In lieu of junior match v Louth being cancelled by Louth, the juniors held an 18 hole and 9 hole comp.
Dylan Welford won the 18 hole and Jayden Willows won the 9 hole comp.
Mixed News
A big congratulations to winners of the Peckett cup 2nd year running with a net 68 Chris and Dave Reid.

A great score by Mark Fuller saw him win the Croft Baker qualifier on Saturday.
The draw for The Croft Baker KO stages can be found here, the first round has to be played by Monday 5th June.

Arsenal deservedly won The FA Cup on Saturday against a Chelsea side perhaps showing some fatigue after a fantastic season. Will Wenger stay or go?
Also a great last gasp won for England's cricketers against South Africa in a really great game, and lastly on the general sports section a great win for an incredibly young England side against an experienced Barbarians in the Rugby Union.
Golf wise an incredible course record 62 in the BMW at Wentworth saw Alex Noren overtake everyone to win, whilst Kevin Kisner won in The USA.
