Club news

Another hectic week down at the club, and ironically some much needed rain fell to refresh the course and take some unusual early season bounce off the fairways and greens!! With the course generally playing so well, and much better weather than last year the place seems really busy right now, aided by a big import of new members.

Studio wise we are on the 'putting bits' in phase now, with the net and matting ordered and due in just over two weeks. This week will see the desk area in and the rest of the slat wall going up all being well. We estimate lesson and fitting time will be in place in about three weeks now!!! Note the software for course play will be introduced in the Autumn.

Shop wise we are busy as the season gets under way. Note club fittings can still be booked as the flightscope can be used outdoors. Click here to book in.

Football wise it is getting close at the top as Spurs gather momentum and close the gap on Chelsea, with Man United's best performance this season giving Mourinho a rare smile on his face!! My boys looked decent against a strangely subdued Liverpool side, who came out winners due to a defensive lapse from 'The baggies' and again a lack of a killer goal threat. Golf news saw Luke Donald a bridesmaid again in the States with Wesley Bryan becoming another rookie winner.

Well that's it on the spiel for this week folks, have a good one and please pop in for a browse anytime, cheers Paul

Competition news

Saturday saw the biggest Bill Brown Rosebowl entry of 62 pairs for many a year, with Vice Captain Dave Colvin pairing up with Paul Lee to have the best back nine of five 65's to win on countback. Great scoring overall in tricky wind conditions, and as the results sheet shows only one two from Joe Victory which saw his account profit to the tune of £93!!!

1st - Dave Colvin/Paul Lee - Nett 65 - Back 9

2nd - Keith Holness/Dave Campling - Nett 65 - Back 9

3rd - ColinDavis/Shaun Melhuish -Nett 65 - Last hole

4th. - Pauk Barker/Jack Evans - Nett 65 - Back 9

Shop news

You may have seen the Cleveland promotion which states 65% off golf shots are played from within around 120 yards, so this is obviously an important area of your game to work on.

With both Cleveland and Vokey wedges in house to try why not take advantage of our two for £220 wedge deal with a free 15 minute demo session and a free after sales short game lesson to help you in this area.

Pop in to discuss, and note the basis of my short game teaching mantra is to work the ball in as low as you can. The best players are invariably the best chippers!!! Yes we can help even the higher handicaps achieve fantastic short game improvements.
