Well a busy week both at the club and at home on the continued decorating front! Having left the shop in the capable hands of
Rob and
Alex I managed an extra couple of days off to paint the inside of the utility and get some carpet tiles down, and, no
Mr Paul Barker, I am not looking to take over your title of fastest carpet fitter in the town! With Michelle on a girls holiday it gave her a nice surprise to see an extra room done sooner than expected, making me feel like Nick Knowles.
This week sees the first Invitation Day on Saturday and there are still a few spaces if you wish to play. Also on Sunday sees the Captain’s Am-Am, which also has a few spots available if you still want to play.
Click here to let me know.
Also looming fast is the Pro-Am on Friday 20th June, again there is still time to get your name down if you want to play, and lastly by the time you read this the list for Captain’s Day should be on the board!

Saturday saw better conditions than the previous week, and the Par competition Chamber of Trade saw Tony Diable win out on plus five countback from John Staples. Edward Emerson saw his handicap reduced with a fine third place finish of plus three.
As said the lads have been busy looking after the running of things as I had split my time between job and DIY these last two weeks. Rob has gone down today (Monday) to see his daughters and granddaughter and Alex will be sat having a well earned rest and a cocktail or two by a pool in Egypt right now.
We have now done several fittings on the FlightScope and the reaction has been great to this important addition to our service. Tariff is £25 for a 40 minute fitting, remember this could be a good opportunity to get information on club distance for yourself at the same time. Ball fittings are £10 for 20 minutes and I am now taking bookings for one hour lessons at £40 (this cannot be used in conjunction with any lesson packs we do)
Club wise we are still enjoying healthy sales of G25, although one or two fittings have shown the trialist that a mix and match can often work. As an example one customer who has predominately PING in his bag has just seen that a JetSpeed driver outperformed the G25 for him.
Football wise England looked decent against Peru, doing their normal trick in raising our hopes just before the big one. England’s cricketers fell just short against Sri Lanka in a thriller with Joss Buttler producing a great innings despite the eventual defeat.
It has been a hectic time, with PING clearly winning the club war with TaylorMade in house right now.
It's the last couple of days for our PING irons promotion so make sure you speak to me before the end of Saturday. Don't forget with a fitting you will be able to get a true picture of which suits better.
Both PING and FootJoy have proved popular in the clothing ranges, and Motocaddy sales have been strong with the S1 still £299 with a standard 18 hole lead acid battery. Also we have seen strong Lithium battery sales on the deal, with us continuing the trade in deal to nett an 18 hole lithium down to £174 .
Well fairly short and sweet as I pile through the never ending admin trail this week, have a good one
Paul and the gang.
