Well another week has flown by, aided by dry weather by and large. The course has seen much green keeper activity, with the ditch to the side of the second from the tee up to the junction of the two ditches now clear. I am proud to have helped in that task, along with Bodge Barker too.
The green staff have not stopped there though, with the wooded area between the 7th and 17th greens also cleared, and much chipping done as the trees at the back of those greens have been lopped to allow more light onto those greens.
This should aid the recovery of the 7th green in the long run. The chippings are to be spread around tree areas to keep them looking smart. I must say having been out there with the boys how hard they are working to bring the course up to spec!!!!
If you want to see pictures go on either my Facebook or the club's.
Shop wise the new TaylorMade M series of clubs are now in and there are demo clubs to try. M1 driver has the change of weight in the head technology as well as loft changing options, whilst the M2 driver has loft change options only.
With Titleist and PING demo also in now is a good time to book a flightscope fitting, still £25 for a 40 minute session.
We may have some disruption to the fitting room as the revamp will finally get under way in the next two weeks, but the Flightscope can be used outdoors on a fine day.
First phase is plaster boarding ceiling and walls, along with better lighting.
One other date for the diary is THE PING DEMO DAY, 12 till 4 on the big practice area on 4th April.

With generally good weather we have ticked along in our coaching duties and look forward to seeing you in due course for that early season game spring clean. With plans to further our beginner programme we hope you will spread the word to friends and family as we create classes for beginners.
With the club's excellent Academy membership there is now an inexpensive pathway for these beginners to continue their coaching whilst gaining valuable play time experience. We recommend a lesson programme first (we will be rolling out classes from March so look out for these), and then the Academy membership is £250 for 6 months, which includes a further 6 half hour lessons, two 4 hole and one 9 hole playing lesson.
Use of the course is Monday to Friday anytime, Saturday from 3.00 pm and Sunday from 1.00pm (subject to the normal restrictions) this offer can be repeated once and then the newcomer can join on the current offer of 12 months at 20% off and 5 lessons in.
Don't forget the Knockout entries are now being taken in the shop, entry with payment only. Also I have now officially opened up THE PRO AM list for this year. The date has had to be moved forward a touch to the 2nd June as the original date clashed with a Midland event and we had to move it, no questions asked!!! If you want to play please let me know, I will be getting in touch with the usual suspects soon.
Fixtures
Saturday 4th February Individual Stableford
Football wise a great cup upset for Sutton v Leeds, and indeed the same for Lincoln against Derek Kennard's Brighton. Best result though must be Alan William's Wolves beating Liverpool at Anfield!! What has happened to your team you Reds?
