Saturday saw a hardy 26 pairs go out to do battle in the Winter League in a biting wind! Well done to Remi Clyburn and Dr Dave Smith for a field busting 61. See the results sheets for the full top ten and current standings with 1 medal round to go before the top 16 are drawn for knockout battle!
Also whilst on Competition notes The Men's Knockout lists are now open in the shop, note entry will only be taken with payment.
PRO AM date this year is slightly earlier than normal on 2nd June to avoid an unfortunate clash with a Midland event, so I will contact all the usual suspects to play in it a little earlier than normal!

With the weather largely holding up the teaching diary is starting to load up as you all get ready to tackle the upcoming season head on. Now is a good time to book in to help you build your game for the start of the main season.
Remember too to get your clubs checked out to see if any grips want replacing, and also may be get the lofts and lies checked (£20 per set) Rob has capably taken over this duty from Micko, as well as tackling the demands of e bay, and is proving more than capable (there is life in us old dinosaurs yet!)

The Football got ugly for my two teams on Saturday, with Town pummelled 3-0 at home. This was preceded by Spurs making The Baggies look very poor in the early Saturday kick off. They look the best passing team in the League to me, as I am sure Elliot Grantham, Stuart Lingard and Fish Van Man and dance legend Tony Cox would agree. Mind you they remain well behind Chelsea at this moment in time. Arsenal too looked good at the weekend, whilst Man U and Liverpool drew again!! Well done to Everton in the best result of the weekend against City.
Just an update for those loyal fans of some Championship sides. Newcastle (Lewis Peters) top, Brighton (Derek Kennard) slipped up, Forest (Leachy, Coxy, Purds) let's not go there! Also Wednesday, great local derby win (Tingo, Tony Hawkes). Leeds going well (fans let yourselves be known). Lastly Villa (Kev Laister) struggling.
On 'Dry January' at the moment in a vain bid to lose some weight. The trousers were very snug after Christmas but fit a little more easily now mind you. Had two runs and kept going, and back to 5 a side football, so there is life in this old dog still. Also next week I am back on strimming duty which definitely burns more calories than in the shop. I will be by the 2nd tee finishing that area off, so look forward to seeing some great shots off that tee (no pressure folks!!!)
