Well a busy week for me both at the club and at home on various house renovation projects. The back garden is now completely revamped, and having done all the work I am very proud of the results, particularly after a mammoth 400 hours in total spent on that alone. The lads bedroom is also near to being finished too, so not a lot of time for telly right now!!!!
Having had 4 days off this week it has been great to see Rob and Alex run the gaff as well as they have, showing your confidence in us as a team. With Flightscope now much practised we are rolling out our services with this. Club fitting will be £25 for a 40 minute session, ball fitting £10 for a 20 minute session and we will be using it for the more advanced lesson requirements at £40 for an hour.

Sport wise, Gareth Bale scored what proved to be Real Madrid's winner over their fierce rivals Athletico in The European Cup final. In cricket, England won the first one day international well and then lost the second very badly, then then won the third at a canter. Consistency there then! Football wise we are now counting down to the World Cup, where we will expect too much again I fear!!!!
The first Invitation day on the 7th of June is looming fast and we currently have plenty of spaces, so pop in and get your name down (entry with fee of £15 in shop please) for this fabulous day!!!
The Captain's Am Am is filling up nicely on the 8th June, but there are still spaces and the list for this is on the spike bar notice board.
Also looming is The Pro Am where we currently have around 40 plus teams. The date is the 20th June and it is not too late to play so let me know if you are interested.
This week will see the Captain's Day list go up too so look out for that.

It has been a hectic time, with PING clearly winning the club war with TaylorMade in house right now.
It's the last couple of days for our PING irons promotion so make sure you speak to me before the end of Saturday. Don't forget with a fitting you will be able to get a true picture of which suits better.
Both PING and FootJoy have proved popular in the clothing ranges, and Motocaddy sales have been strong with the S1 still £299 with a standard 18 hole lead acid battery. Also we have seen strong Lithium battery sales on the deal, with us continuing the trade in deal to nett an 18 hole lithium down to £174.
Saturday saw a difficult day with lots of rain to contend with and making the already difficult rough a real danger zone. All the more remarkable score to top the pile was a 70 from Dave Reid, back down to 3.9 and fighting to get back in the first team!!! Dave Copley had an excellent 67 to finish 2nd and Mark Atkins was third with a 69. Note too ever consistent Martin Warren battled to a fine 71. This was The Croft baker qualifier so if you had a decent score check to see if you are in the knock out stages.

Lady Captain, Judith Gorman had worked terribly hard to make this special event a success and a success it certainly was, enhanced even with warm, sunny weather condition which were enjoyed and appreciated by all competitors. The day raised over £1,000 for the Rock Foundation, the captains of Cleethorpes Golf Club chosen charity for their year of office. Pam Hodge founder of the Rock Foundation gave a vote of thanks to Judith and her helpers all their efforts to make this such a successful day. The whole day culminated in a meal in the Clubhouse afterwards followed by the presentation.

CLEETHORPES GOLF CLUB SENIOR MEN'S SECTION TUESDAY 20 MAY 2014 - Handicap Qualifier. Winner - Richard Wilson . Runner Up- Jim Arnell . Weather Conditions: Ideal Summer 's Day attracting 43 competitors. Remarks: Chris Warren Scored a " Whole - in- One " on the 3rd Green , at Cleethorpes , in a Senior's match versus Laceby Manor on Monday 19 / 05 / 14 !!!!
The A Team have 'kicked off' in defence of their county crown, and managed comprehensive wins firstly against Laceby at home by a margin of 5 to 1, and then away to Immingham running out winners there by 4 and a half to 1and a half. So once again a great start to the campaign, let's hope the great run of the last few years continues unabated.
Also the Senior Captain held his away day recently at The Oaks Golf Club, and despite the odd heavy shower all who went had a great day. Ian Sutherland came out top of the pile, with other notable performances from Pete Billam, Mike Simpson, Pete Fuller, Colin Staniforth, Jim Dyson, Derek Broughton and John Birch.
It was great to see Rory return to the winners fold at the weekend, especially after him calling off his wedding beforehand. A high flying Rory can only be a good thing for golf in general and also for the upcoming Ryder Cup!!!!
!!Breaking News!! - Last night he followed up his win at Wentworth with a 9 under par first round leading score at the Memorial Tournament at Muirfield Village.
