Hi everyone, foggy Tuesday at the club, the course has only just opened and it's 10.30 am, there's a lot of guys out there desperate to avoid Christmas shopping! The England Rugby team get top billing for me this week what a great performance against the Australians, after those first 20 minutes I thought the Aussies would be out of sight. This England side are made of steel, here's hoping they can knock the all blacks off their world number 1 slot.
The course has held up very well after all the rain of last week, the new drainage work certainly seems to have made a difference which is great. Lots of other courses locally suffered closure, or winter greens so fingers crossed Cleethorpes will benefit from more green fees etc. in the future.
Only one result to report on this week, the Turkey trot was played on Saturday the 3rd December, winners were 1st Phil Robinson and Simon Hewitt with a magnificent 47 points, 2nd with 46 points were Angus Kettrick and Iain Richardson, 3rd with 45 points were Dave Hannay and John Hudson.
Well played chaps your vouchers are in the Pro's shop.
Watch your alignment
Time and time again we see students pointing their body at the target, which leads to all sorts of problems. The only thing you aim at the target is the club face, make sure your body line aims about a yard left of target running across the feet, knees, hips, and shoulders. If you struggle with this have a lesson, it will save you a lot of time and energy not to mention frustration.
The shop is well stocked, lots of Christmas present ideas for you to choose from. If you don't see what you're looking for just ask and we can look at ordering in for you. The winter lesson offer is an ideal present and don't forget if it's bought for Christmas there is no time limit on when the lessons have to be taken. The new Titleist 917 Demo woods are available to try, we have had some great feedback on how they perform, so pop in and give one a try.
