Well the footy season is over!!! Liverpool just fell short of claiming a first premier title, with the blue side of Manchester taking top spot. Chelsea and Arsenal took the other two Champions league places, with Everton claiming 5th spot. Man United by their standards had a very poor season!! My boys survived by virtue of the fact that there were three worse teams than them!!! We need to rebuild if we are to survive next term me thinks. Grimsby have given Hurst another crack at the helm next term when many thought it might be time for a change, but let's hope a full season on his own will see him improve on last season!!!
The Beardsall Cup
Down at the club we have seen some poor weather over the last few days, with wind and rain playing havoc with the scoring on Saturday as 112 hardy souls battled it out in The Beardsall Cup. 71 on countback won, with Vinnie Thomas coming out on top from Mick Webber, Matty Barber, Cameron Tuck and Mark Pearson. Best gross was taken by Ash Cox.
I am pleased Vinnie shot a good score as he had just had a lesson with me!!!!
Artie White Charity Day
Friday saw 29 teams again battle tough conditions in the ever popular Artie White charity day which I am privelaged to be involved with. The atmosphere was not dented and a full clubhouse for the presentation was great to see. An away team of Paul Edwatrds, Robert Edwards, Dave Mckenzie and Chris Fuller won on countback with 82 points from Carl Peart, Andy Taylor, Matty Barber and Paul Bonner. Third team on 80 points was PJ Riley, Jon Ashley, Paul Wain and Matty ' Buzzcut ' Bloomer. Fourth place was taken by Nik Bradsell, Alex Micko, Mally Cox and Mark Godfrey.

Well we look forward to seeing you all in the week, hopefully better weather is coming along. The course is playing very well with it being so lush, but it does make for a tough test out of the rough. Note it is well worth a session with us to help you with the technique for this shot. A word to the wise though take your punishment, use a lofted club and find a safe path back to the fairway!!!
