Hi one and all, hope you have had a great week. The weather continues to drive us crazy at this rate it will all hinge on us having an Indian summer if we are to have one at all! The week seems to have flown by yet again, Paul had a nice break in Spain with son Josh, it must have been nice to have some father and son time, bet Mr Davies left the clubbing to Josh though!
What a weekend of sport, Murray wins Wimbledon, Hamilton wins his 4th British Grand Prix, and the Final of the Euro's where Portugal saw off the French, I thought the support Ronaldo gave his team mates from the touch line after his injury was a credit to him, so well done to our oldest allies, didn't know that did you!. The real story of the weekend for me was that I got through a second barbeque without breaking my leg, so I think Mr Barker can stop reminding me to watch where I put my feet!
Mid-Week medal 1st Graham Purdue winning first time out with his new clubs, with 87-16-71, just edging out Matt Helstern who shot 75-4-71 by a better back nine. Centenary Cup was won by Mark Pearson with a fine 75-11-64, which just edged out Tony Miller who had an excellent 78-13-65, any other event so far this year and Tony would have won, it's a cruel game at times, Mark made a great birdie on the 18th to secure victory. Third with a super 72-6-66 was Leigh Davey, not bad for someone who said he was off to get 1 back when he signed in, never forget Leigh, form is temporary class is permanent!
On the team front pride of place must go to the Ladies First Division representatives who beat Kenick Park 3 matches to 1, which means they have won the North Linc's League and must now pit themselves against the winners of the South Linc's league for the overall Lincolnshire championship. Really well done ladies a great feat let's hope you achieve the overall win all the club will be rooting for you.
The men's A team got things back on track after their blip at Kenick, with a win against Waltham by 4 matches to two, well done guys.
In the shop flight scope fittings are still very popular so if you are thinking of treating yourself get yourself booked in. Summer lesson offer remains 7 half hour sessions for £100 that's two free of charge, remember no matter what clubs you have if you don't get a repetitive swing you won't improve.
The biggest problem we come across is students who are constantly making the game too complicated breaking the swing down into so many component parts, it really is a recipe for disaster so if you are one of the multitude trying to find your way through a maze of conflicting advice come and see us, and we will simplify the whole procedure.
We have a PING demo day booked for the 26th July from 1pm to 4pm please reserve a slot all the PING gear will be available for you to try.
