Hi one and all, hope you are all well.
I'm not going to dwell too much on the football, this week but at least England got through to the last 16, but too many team changes for my liking, here's hoping we can progress. Now the rugby on the other hand was a joy to behold, England's first series win on Australian soil was built on an outstanding defensive display. We were under the cosh for much of the second half but repelled wave after wave of Australian attacks, with fantastic resilience. Just one final push for a whitewash in the Sydney game and all will be well with the world of English rugby.
Results this week were as follows winner of the Williamson cup was the inform Sean Melhuish with a fine 84-18-66, 2nd was Darren Franks with 83-14-69, and 3rd was the ever improving Kevin Laister with 89-20-69. Well done to all you, especially Sean who also won the Chamber of Trade competition last week.

We have a fine entry for the Pro Am on Friday as usual, this hasn't come about by accident, Paul has been hard at the organization of this event since February with all that entails, it's always a great day for the club, and Paul deserves a lot of credit for his efforts. Also a huge thank you to Ray Crome for his input with regard to sponsorship and team participation, it is a great boost to the event and greatly appreciated Ray.
The three amigos in the shop will be trying their very best to represent the club with 3 great rounds in the 60s!!! Fat chance of that for Goodway and Davies, maybe the big hitting Micko can come to the fore so long as he keeps that power under control! The most important thing is that everyone has a great day and I'm sure they will.
Away from golf we hope that you all enjoy the armed forces day celebrations over the weekend it will be great for the town, and a fitting tribute to the selfless duty that present and former service personnel have given the Nation, how lucky we all are to have them!
