Hi, everyone, well I know I said last week no more weather comments, but when I came in first thing Saturday morning, it looked like a boating lake out there! Steve our intrepid green keeper duly informed me we would be out of action for the weekend again!
However today as I write the current sun is out, the course is drying nicely, and we have all 18 holes open yippee.
What's more we have a dry week forecast at last. Due to the downpours we had to cancel the Bill Brown Rose Bowl which should have taken place on Saturday.
The shop is starting to pick up now, although the week started on a sour note, we had an attempted break in. Some kind soul had tried to force the shutter that protects the window. We are indebted to both Dave Smith and Dave Ingham who managed to repair shutter for us, greatly appreciated guys.
The second problem arose with the card terminal, it was out of action for the best part of two days. The providers informed us that we were the only outlet in the whole of the U.K. mainland that had experienced this problem, the only other place being Jersey, talk about fate! Mr Davies was getting rather irate and it wasn't even 9.00am! Still we put this hiccup behind us and marched on with the rest of our duties.
Demo clubs are available in a variety of brands, the TaylorMade M2 is proving very popular with some great feedback. We always recommend a fitting on the Flight Scope if you are considering a club change, in order to ensure that you get the correct spec for your swing characteristics. Loft and lie checks are also very popular, it's important to keep a check on the face angles, as over time they can move considerably, causing a severe effect on distance performance.
Check your grip pressure
The vast majority of golfers grip the club as though their life depends on it, and this causes muscle tightness throughout the body, leading to very wooden movement. Keeping the muscles loose allows for a free flowing effortless swing as demonstrated by all the worlds' greats. Hope this helps, book a lesson if you want to understand this aspect more deeply.
Alex has been away for a couple of days under going some of his final P.G.A. exams, I hope they went well for him. After seeing the content of what he had to memorise, I was very glad he had to go through it and not me!
