Hi everyone, Rob on duty again this week hope you are all well. The weather as is so often the case in part of the world has been the main topic of conversation at the club for the last week or so. As most of you will know we have been closed on a number of days, the course just couldn't take any more, but at the time of writing we have 16 holes open with just 1 temporary green which is great it looks like staying dry for a few days, so given a fair wind we may be fully operational very soon.
The football weekend saw the normal merry go round of results, I thought my wonderful Man Utd were great value for their win, fast flowing dynamic play at last full of attacking intent and verve, and a goal as well how they didn't score 4 or 5 is beyond me!!!!!!!!' yes I joke, what a load of rubbish it's like watching paint dry, still I must keep the faith.
The mariners march on after another good result, looks like the play offs again maybe, wouldn't it be great if they could get that return to the higher division, here's hoping.
Cleethorpes Golf Club Ladies Section Competition Results
January 13th Wednesday saw a welcome return to golf following the Christmas break.
In fine sunny conditions, 24 ladies enjoyed a 9 hole Betterball competition. The winners were Jan. Dann and Gwen Farmery with 23 points. In second place were Jo Gibbons and Judith Gorman with 22 points, and third were Susan Colvin and Pam Arnell with 21 points.
Obviously things at the Club are on the slow side, because of course conditions the winter league had to be cancelled on Saturday, as far as I'm aware it should be played this coming Saturday, but give us a ring in the shop to confirm.
Just another reminder for the Pro's night coming up on the 29th of this Month, tickets available at the bar at £5 each.
Winter lesson pack is still available, if you book and pay before the end of January, then the lessons can be taken up to December 2016, normally they finish at the end of March, cost is £100 for 10 half hour lessons.
We have a sale in the shop with big savings on lots of items, all remaining polo shirts in stock are no just £20 each, so come have and have a look around and grab yourself a bargain.
I will sign off there let's hope the weather keeps improving, and that you can all get back out on the course, have a great week. Regards Rob
